As the story begins, Harry is a member of a treasure-hunting expedition whose plane goes down in the forest. The other survivors are scattered throughout the game; an older, wiser adventurer who was on the plane -- and who becomes incapacitated during the accident -- urges Harry to embark on a quest to save them while battling a rival, eco-unfriendly group of treasure hunters for the relics of the jungle so they can be returned to their rightful owners. He hands Harry the "Heros Handbook" and Harrys off to adventure. The "Heros Handbooks" pages are scattered throughout the levels just like the crash survivors are. Find new pages, and Harry will learn new moves.

Best role-playing game Ive played so far...
This game is brilliant! The minute you start playing it drags you in. The only time I did stop playing it was when something either came up, or I just got too tired (12.30 last night I completed the game.)

The action in POP is brilliant and you never get bored with the moves he has when beating his enemies. And then there are all the different enemies that you have and that you have to defeat in different ways (wall jumps, jumping over their heads while thrashing them with the sword etc.) The storyline is another thing thats excellent and seems to have had alot of thought put to it, with a really good twist at the end that I wasnt expecting. The only thing that confuses me (even though its not important) is; Why is this game seven plus??? The torturing place, with blood flowing beneath you while coming out of drains is pretty nasty as well as all those coffins... millions of them...

Well, I recommend anyone who is thinking of getting this, to get it because I was unsure at first and now, its probably one of the best role-playing games Ive played so far. Its brilliant.

Ubi Soft Classic
I have been waiting a while for this game and it was worth the wait. This is a pure classic reborn in 3D. You are the Prince of Persia and you have to defeat the evil Vizier with the help of Farah.

As i said this is a 3D game but is a lot like the 2D classic that came out long ago. Its basically the same concept with puzzles and swordfights but with a more adventure feel to it due to the larger levels.

The AI is top notch, the evil sand creatures act as they should and dont just stand there while youre next to them and will block attacks very well, dont expect an easy slash and dash. The handling of the prince is perfect using the GameCube pad and is matched with his reactions on screen.

Graphically Prince of Persia is amazing, better then the PS2 version but you would expect that and practically on a par with the Xbox version. It runs at a constant 60fps so it looks amazing and pushes the GameCube to its limit.

The sound is very good and doesnt look out of place.

Basically if you like your adventure games then this is for you, great graphics, top notch AI and the result being a very playable game. If that wasnt enough, if you finish the game you get the fully playable 2D classic! This is highly recommended.

A Prince among men
Visually stunning, audibly superb, and an absolute dream to play.

The graphics in this game are second to non with the possible exception of Windwalker. Everything in this game looks stunning, different moods are created and really do change the mood of the game. I cannot praise them highly enough. The settings are all fantastic and are of a scale hardly ever seen before, I have only ever felt in awe of one other game and that was the first Tombraider, not that I am comparing the two, but the scale is impressive.

The sound is excellent, nice music, nice voice acting and perfect and appropriate sounds.

The controls are so natural and simple to grasp you will be pulling all kinds of special moves in no time at all.

The adventure sections are easy enough early on, getting more dificult as you progress with the addition of time limits just to spice things up a little. The battle scenes are very good and you will be flipping and slicing in no time, the only problem is that these do tend to go on a little with no real guide as to when you are about to win - monsters keep on reappearing after death then suddenly just stop! Dont let this put you off though - this is a fantasic game. Just play it and see.
